Born, raised, and educated in San Diego, California, Jay Drose is an alumnus of the University of San Diego, CA with an honors B.A. degree in Visual Arts, Media (film/video). He has written, directed and produced over a half-dozen short films and has been commissioned to direct commercials. Concerned with the generational differences between characters and its relationship to the cinematic, Jay Drose's films attempt to explore the moods and tones of loss and transition.

In the fall 2010, he received a grant to produce his originally written short, "The Southern Question." It tells the story of an isolated musician and his manager's desire to start touring after a strained down period. The film is slated to premiere in the Spring of 2011 and will run in multiple festivals throughout the year.

Aside from his projects, Jay works as a freelance 1st/2nd Assistant Director and Line Producer. He spends time between the small community of North Park and Los Angeles; don't hesitate to contact him.
